Day 01 Arrival Trivandrum
Arrival Trivandrum. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel and
overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 Trivandrum
After
breakfast city tour of Trivandrum or Thiruvananthapuram.
Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala, is built over
low hills near the seashore. Though a well-developed capital
city, it is not noisy. Trivandrum is clean, green and peaceful.
Derived from Tiru-Ananthapuram, Thiruvananthapuram means the
city of Anatha. Anatha is the sacred eternal snake that shelters
Lord Vishnu (the Preserver in the Hindu Holy Trinity of
Creator-Preserver-Destroyer) with its hood. Visit the sacred
Padmanabha Swamy Temple. The temple is known for the Mural
paintings and stone carvings is one among the 108 temples
dedicated to Vishnu in India. A magnificent array of gods,
goddesses, nymphs, sprites and demons adorn the seven-storey
'gopuram' that forms the temple tower. Later return to hotel and
rest of the day free for leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03 Trivandrum - Kovalam (16/15 min Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After breakfast check out of the hotel and drive towards
Kovalam. 'Kovalam' known for its golden sands bordered by
coconut palm trees. 16 km from Trivandrum, it was once a fishing
village and is now an evergreen beach resort with a pleasant
climate. Known as the 'Paradise of the South', Kovalam is now
one of the most favourite tourist destinations all over the
world. The scenic beauty, serenity and the seafood along with
Ayurvedic massage parlors, yoga centers and water sport
facilities make Kovalam a popular haven for tourists. Upon
arrival at Kovalam check into the hotel. Rest of the day free
for leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04 Kovalam
Day free to relax at the beach. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 05 Kovalam - Varkala (55/1 Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After
breakfast check out of the hotel and drive towards Varkala.
'Varkala' The famed beach destination, Varkala is a religious
centre too. Like the white cliffs of Dover, the pink laterite
cliffs of Varkala rise right off the sea side along with beaches
in between. A dip in the holy waters of this beach and a prayer
at the 1000-year-old Janardhana (Lord Krishna) temple is said to
cleanse one of all sins. The Sivagiri Mutt established by the
great social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru is also nearby.
Mineral water springs on the high cliffs are a unique attraction
of the destination. Upon arrival at Varkala check into the
resort. Rest of the day free for leisure. Overnight at the
resort.
Day 06 Varkala - Aleppey (285/6 Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After breakfast check out of hotel and drive towards Aleppey .
Upon arrival at Aleppey check into the resort. Overnight at the
resort.
Day 07 Aleppey - Kayamkulam (47/1 Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After
breakfast check out of resort and check into a houseboat. You
will be taken to Kayamkulam through the backwaters where you
will be having a glimpse of the lives of the local fishermen and
their fishing techniques. Kayamkulam a scenic ancient market
town popular for its fishing, coir and tourism industries. Enjoy
this pleasant ride through the small fishing villages to
Kayamkulam where the boat anchors at the Kayamkulam lake.
Overnight at the houseboat.
Day 08 Kayamkulam- Chenganacherry (House boat)
Next
morning we resume our tour on the houseboat through the famous
backwaters of Kerala. Now you will be taken to the small fishing
village of Changnacherry. The houseboat stays anchored at
Changnacherry for your overnight stay in the beautiful
backwaters.
Day 09 Chenganacherry - Kumarakom (House boat)
The next destination is Kumarakom, which is constituted by a
cluster of small islands on the Vembanad Lake in Kerala. The
sail through the backwaters on the houseboat will surely be a
memorable trip for you. Then later check out of the houseboat.
Then you will be taken to a beautiful resort at Kumarakom. Check
into the resort. Overnight at the resort.
Day 10 Kumarakom - Cochin (80/1.5 Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After
breakfast check out of the resort and drive towards Cochin.
'Cochin' or Kochi is the second city of Kerala. From 1100 AD
Kochi was the seat of the Kingdom of Cochin, a princely state,
which was only given up by the Maharaja when the Indian Union
was formed at Independence in 1947. Upon arrival check into the
hotel. Then later visit the Fort Kochi, St. Francis Church,
Mattancherry Palace (Dutch Palace), Synagogue, Bolghatty Island,
Willingdon Island. Later return to the hotel and rest of the day
free for leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11 Cochin - Munnar (130/ 3 Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After
breakfast check out of the hotel and drive towards Munnar. Upon
arrival at Munnar check into the hotel and rest of the day free
for leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12 Munnar
Day free for leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13 Munnar - Periyar (106/ 2 Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After
breakfast check out of hotel and drive towards 'Periyar' known
for the River Periyar, the second longest and the perennial
river of Kerala. On arrival check into the resort. Later enjoy
boat ride on the Periyar River touring the Periyar wild life
sanctuary. Then return to the resort and overnight at the resort
.
Day 14 Periyar - Trivandrum (253/ 4.5 Kms/Hrs (Aprox.))
After breakfast check out of the resort and drive towards
Trivandrum. Upon arrival at Trivandrum check into the hotel and
rest of the day free for leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 15 Trivandrum - Dep
After breakfast check out of hotel and drive towards Trivandrum
international airport intime to catch flight towards onward
